I am a participant of the greatest adventure in the world. A journey to a magical land where dreams are a reality. After having traveled a great distance, I now stand in the middle of a crossroad. Which way do I go? I can’t seem to decide.

“I am lost,” I thought to myself. “The roads ahead, whichever way I take leads me to nowhere.”

Looking back to when I first started, I was so sure then. I thought I had everything figured out. Even if I had drawn a road map and knew which road to take, I still find myself in the middle of nowhere.

Taking time to look at the routes I had taken, I realized that I had taken wrong turns at several points.

Have you heard of Boracay? It is a paradise on earth. I lived there from 1998 to 2003.

It is on that island that I pursued my passion for marine life and became a scuba diving instructor. To this day, those few years remain some of the best times of my life.

Every now and then, the people I meet would tell me how much they envy my lifestyle.

I was living my dream. A dream I had since the first time I visited Boracay in 1991.

But dreams could change.

Like I said, I thought I had everything figured out.

After spending seven years planning and preparing to make it a reality, my dream became a reality.

Everything changed when I decided to return to city life and get married.

Things did not turn out well, but I digress.

Why do we stop upon reaching a crossroad? Is it because the destination was not where we actually wanted? Is it because of the wrong turns we had taken?

A crossroad may stop us, but what is important is that we do not stay too long without continuing our journey.

I think a crossroad is a great thing.

Each time we arrive at a crossroad, that is the perfect time to reflect on the past so we could move forward.

I believe each person goes through countless crossroads in life, and that is a good thing. It shows that the person recognizes that he/she has a responsibility.

Only fools do not realize they are at a crossroad. Only the irresponsible ones ignore crossroads.

Friend, where do you go from here?
